No matter if anyone has said it to you or not remember you are very brave to get out of your comfort zone just to prove something not to the world but to you , yourself. You are very brave to do that. You could have had a life of comfort but you decided to put yourself out in the wild, you are brave for doing that. Not everyone is capable of doing that. You have a burning fire within you and now hold on to the fire because the upcoming paragraphs may cause your fire to dim away.

I know you are aware of all the scavengers out there in the city who would happily prey on your anxieties, your worries , your fears but you decided to move anyway. Kudos to you. Starting over in a new city where you don’t know anyone is exhilarating, life-changing and, at times, heartbreaking — and it’s something I think everyone should do at least once.
If you were previously a very ambitious girl and broke legs everyday this is going to be sad and depressing because now in your new city you won’t be breaking legs just yet. Give the dwellers their legs to walk! ( Hahha). Your new metropolitan , growing and fast paced city does not really care about your previous qualifications. It is too consumed in sucking the life out of you while searching for just the specific qualities in you completely oblivious of your feelings. ( eyes rolled*). Enough with the pity party. What do we do apart from being sorry for ourselves?

  1. Stop measuring your self worth by professional success and financial situations.

This is exactly what your scavenger city wants. This is the dead trap. Do not. I repeat do not fall for it

2.Enjoy the bliss:

What if perhaps you get a job too quickly that you don’t get to enjoy your free time! What a bummer that would be. What if there are too many jobs to choose from? Perhaps a pro/con list would do the trick. Write a novel, listen to music, chase fireflies in the wild. Go to solo trips. Because once we get to the grind we just want to be unemployed to chase fireflies. Take yourself out to dates. Being able to be alone to enjoy your company is sheer bliss.

3. Defeat Rejections:

After applying to what seems like hundreds of positions, of which you are qualified for and sometimes overqualified for, you begin getting the rejection emails– and continue to wait on others (for eternity–because let’s be honest, you won’t ever get a response). There are points when all you want to do is sit in your pajamas on the couch with you dog and cross your fingers for a rainy day so you don’t feel so lazy. Make peace with the rejections. Sounds unreal? Trust me this is the key. Keep em coming. Rejections should never stop you from applying. If not mine, take Sia’s words , You are bulletproof nothing to loose , Fire away, fire away.

4.Filter Advices:

I always found people’s opinions very over bearing. With time I learned to filter. There are going to be people who would go like, hey its okay you will find a job. Now let me tell you everything wrong with that sentence. Automatically it is being registered in your head you are being pitied. Nobody needs pity when they are actively looking for work. Jeez World relax! Everything is already okay with your life. All you need is a little push of motivation. Screen people in your life. You just need encouragement , not pity remember. Learn the difference.

5. Get a Library Membership:

Whenever I move to a new town, I make sure to get my library card as soon as I can. I look at it as a rite of passage, just like getting a license with my new address, or new plates on my car. Of course everyone can hang out in the library, but only bonafide locals get the privilege of checking out books. It’ll definitely make you feel like you’re right at home. Words are powerful and books are extremely comforting. While you have this ample amount of glorious time to yourself , make the most of it by indulging yourself in this week’s bestseller. Writers are magicians according to me, their pens are their very own wands.

6. Lastly, dance it out:

Something I learned from my all time favorite Tv-show Greys Anatomy. Best friends Meredith and Christina to combat their daily stress due to their over-consuming jobs as medical residents often dances their stresses away. The scientific reason for why dance has the ability to act as a stress reliever stems from the idea that when the body feels good, the mind does, too. Any type of physical activity releases neurotransmitters and endorphins which serve to alleviate stress. Neurotransmitters are chemicals within the brain that help communicate messages throughout the body. Endorphins are the body’s natural painkiller to reduce stress and improve the mind’s perception of the world. Thus, after a good workout the endorphins cause the body to feel calm and optimistic. Plus it is so much fun.

Give yourself the time it truly deserves, before committing to a job. Thats is all what we have ourselves. 🙂
